 The average cost of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital’s monthly electricity bill now stands at two hundred and 99 thousand Ghana cedis. The hospital in addition also in 2014 incurred expenses to the tune of one hundred and 41 thousand Ghana cedis in respect of the purchase of fuel for its four large stand-by generators due to the energy crisis. The Chief Executive of the Hospital Dr Joseph Akpaloo who made this known at the 2014 Performance Review meeting in Kumasi noted that the hospitals internally generated funds can no longer cope and therefore encouraged all units and directorates to make conscious efforts to secure donations and partnerships to assist in the management of the crisis.
 According to the CEO management is exploring the possibility of securing joint partnership arrangements under the government’s Public Private Partnership PPP, policy for the development of critically needed facilities at the hospital. The Chief Executive announced that the Hospital renovated the Ear, Nose and Throat ENT  ward at a cost of one hundred and seven thousand 410 Ghana cedis, while a police post was established at a cost of 28 thousand 494 Ghana cedis to beef up security at the hospital. To help ease problem and provide a comfortable and safe accommodation for relatives of patients on admission, the hospital has engaged a private developer to construct a one hundred and 34 bed hostel on Build, Operate and Transfer basis.  The Ministry of Health has also awarded on contract expansion works on the hospital’s Oncology Center at a cost of nine hundred and 58 thousand Ghana cedis. This project forms part of a proramme to upgrade the Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine centres at both Komfo Anokye and Korle Bu Teaching Hospitals. The CEO announced that maternal mortality at the hospital dropped from one hundred and 26 to one hundred and eight in 2014. The Board Chairman of the Hospital Dr Richard Sagoe commended management and staff for good work done in the face of the energy crisis and pledged that members will work hard to address the challenges to make the hospital realize its mission and vision. For this time, delegation from the Tamale Teaching Hospital led by its Chief Executive attended the Review Meeting.
