DCOP. KOFI BOAKYE

      The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye has directed all divisional, district and unit commanders in the Ashanti Region to take personal responsibility at their various charge offices and cells and ensure that all suspects are well secured. 

He has also directed the officers to conduct regular checks at the charge office and cells in order to make it more difficult for suspects to escape from custody. These directives follow a meeting of all senior police officers in the region in Kumasi.

 DCOP Kofi Boakye hinted that he will conduct surprise checks at the various cells in the region and ensure that all security features are intact and suspect security ensured. He urged officers to report all structural defects in all the stations to the Regional Command for necessary action.

 DCOP Kofi Boakye also advised officers to move all suspects from cells whose structures were defective to more secured ones. He warned that any officer who allows a suspect to escape from custody would be dealt with.
